Budapest’s Museum of Fine Arts has bought Anthony Van Dyck’s Wedding Portrait of Princess Mary Henrietta Stuart, which is being shown together with several of the museum’s other pieces, László Baán, the museum’s director, said on Tuesday.

The Irish-Hungarian Business Circle held its annual St Patrick’s Day Gala Dinner last Saturday at the Marriott Hotel in Budapest. The evening was filled with great Irish spirit, fab food, traditional music & dance, good friends, and of course the craic.

Last Thursday the Thursday Night Crowd was back in town at Jack Doyle’s. There was a very special reason for this. One of the lovely members of the Thursday night Crowd, Sylvia, was to be united with her sister that she never knew she had until this year, thanks to lots of research by Chris Clarke none the less!!

When I came to Budapest many pints of Guinness ago, there weren’t too many places celebrating St. Patrick’s day. Now the city has many venues that embrace this joyous occasion, none more so than one of the original Irish pubs in town.
